Every year we throw away over a billion lighters of which at least 185 million end up in our oceans. Worst of all, this could all be prevented if we simply switched our disposable lighters for sustainable ones. Creating a sustainable alternative for the disposable lighter was actually the core idea behind the creation of HCL and continues to be HCL's main mission.
